Channeling David Plowden

We had intended to photograph midwestern snow-covered landscapes when we first started what became a 7500 mile, 5-week road trip. But alas, nature was not with us. There was very little snow, overcast skies and mild temperatures. As we drove through rural Wisconsin and Minnesota, I was thinking about David Plowden’s classic black-and-white photos of Midwest farmland and began to see the landscape as I think he would have. My favorite pictures are included here.
