Waves Versus Rocks

The unique coastline between Coos Bay and Cape Arago in Oregan offers myriad photo opportunities. Uplifting and erosion of sandstone left by an ancient delta have created a dramatic coastline of ridges and sea stacks. Waves formed by swells traveling across the Pacific crash into this rocky coast. The ocean washes over the rocks, then recedes, making for energetic wave shapes and textures.
